With large volume of seaweeds to clean daily, Crimson’s leisure and landscaping team&nbsp;Given the volume of seaweeds that comes to shore daily, clean-up is not the only challenge, the area and space where the weeds will be disposed becomes an increasing consideration. Collected seaweeds take a lot of space, takes time to decompose on its own.&nbsp;Through senior horticulturist Rowena Carpio, the resort has put together two initiatives that will turn seaweeds into either fertilizer or vermi compost.&nbsp;The program calls for volunteerism as employees, hotel guests, and the community can help in seaweed collection, the first step to the program.&nbsp;&nbsp;Guest Participation&nbsp;Guests are welcome to join the program, learn about the process of converting seaweed to vermi-compost and fertilizers. Leisure team gives guests overview of the program, get to choose their nets and get on the action of collecting seaweeds.&nbsp;Collected seaweeds are placed in baskets and washed in preparation of the next steps of processing them.&nbsp;As a thank you for joining our environmental initiatives, guest can enjoy home made ice cream at Kalma.&nbsp;
